QuoteCart Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 27, 2026 · QuoteCart – Contractor Estimate PDF from Any Store Cart, version 1.0.0

In short

  • No data collected or sent
  • Makes no network requests
  • Estimates stay on your computer

QuoteCart is a browser extension that turns the items in a store cart or on a product page into a contractor's estimate PDF. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use it. The short version: QuoteCart does not collect, upload, sell or share any of your data.

What QuoteCart reads

QuoteCart reads a web page only when you ask it to: when you click Add items from this page, press the keyboard shortcut, or choose a QuoteCart item in the right-click menu. It then reads the item names, model or SKU numbers, quantities and prices shown on that page (or in the part you selected). It has no access to any other page, and it does not run in the background on the sites you visit.

What QuoteCart sends

Nothing. QuoteCart makes no network requests. Your estimates, customers, prices and business details are never sent to us or to anyone else. There are no analytics, ads, trackers or accounts. PDFs and CSV files are created on your computer and saved where you choose.

What QuoteCart stores

Using your browser's extension storage, on your computer only:

  • Your estimates: customer name and contact details, job site, items, prices, labor, notes and terms.
  • Your business profile: business name, contact details, license number, logo and default settings.

You can delete any estimate from the editor. Removing the extension deletes all of this data. Because nothing is stored online, we can't recover it for you; keep the PDFs you send.

Customer information

If you enter your customers' names, addresses, phone numbers or emails, they stay in your browser on your computer. You are responsible for handling your customers' information as your local laws require.

Stores and prices

QuoteCart is not affiliated with any retailer. Prices come from what the store page showed when you added an item and may change; check them before you send an estimate.

Permissions and why they are needed

PermissionWhy QuoteCart needs it
activeTab
Permission
Gives QuoteCart access to the current tab only after the user clicks the toolbar button, uses the keyboard shortcut or chooses the right-click menu item, so it can read the items on that page. QuoteCart has no access to any site until the user does one of these.
scripting
Permission
Runs the page reader in the current tab (with the access activeTab grants after a user click) to read item names, quantities and prices, and shows a short "Added to estimate" message on that page.
storage
Permission
Saves the user's estimates, business profile (name, address, logo) and default settings in the browser's extension storage on the user's computer.
contextMenus
Permission
Adds "Add items on this page to estimate" and "Add selected items to estimate" to the right-click menu.

Chrome Web Store User Data Policy

QuoteCart's use of any information it handles adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is used only to provide QuoteCart's single purpose, is not sold, and is not used for advertising or to determine creditworthiness.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
